Mr. Shinksy,

On behalf of the Putnam County Democratic Party, I would like to express our condemnation of the
defacement of the Ronald Reagan mural on your party headquarters office. Vandalism is a problem in
Cookeville and it is unfortunate that you and such a public piece of art were targeted. Hopefully, the
perpetrators of this crime will be apprehended soon. Although he was not of our Party, we respect
former President Reagan as our American President and would not want to see his image disgraced
in such a shameful manner. Our parties have our ideological differences; however, we want only to
engage in productive, considerate dialogue that is respectful of the political diversity so important in our
nation. Please do not think that we condone this action in any way.
